Baby Shower Poems from the Heart
Page 2

Have you and your new baby been showered with beautiful baby gifts and want to say thank you personally? Were you touched by the thought that your family and friends put into their gifts? The birth of a baby and the beginning of a new life is an occasion for all of us to think about our own loved ones and how precious they are to us.

Your baby may not even be born yet, but you can make your thank you notes just as thoughtful and personal by writing a card with a poem from your unborn baby in it.

You may need to spend a little extra time sitting down with your feet up right now, so why not grab a pencil and start on a thank you poem of your own? Here are some ideas to get you started:

"What colour will my eyes be?

What about my hair -

Chestnut, like my mother's

Or like my father's, fair?

Will I be an athlete,

A writer, movie star?

Maybe I'm to travel

To countries near and far.

Of one thing I am certain,

Even now I know it's true.

I'm greatly loved and wanted

By folks as dear as you."

If you wanted, it would be easy to change your poem slightly and address it to your baby:

"What colour will your eyes be?

What about your hair -

Chestnut, like your mother's

Or like your father's, fair?

Will you be an athlete,

A writer, movie star?

Maybe you're to travel

To countries near and far.

Of one thing I am certain,

Even now I know it's true.

You're dearly loved and wanted

By your family waiting for you."

And don't think it has to be hard if you're having twins, or triplets, or more. (The poem writing isn't hard, at least.) How about this one:

“Thankyou for your presents

You’re really very kind

We couldn’t be with you today

We know that you won’t mind

We’ll soon be here to see you

And make a bit of noise

And that’s when you will find out

If we are girls or boys.”

So go on, thank your family and friends for their lovely baby gifts with your own personal thank you poem.
